Bay-Delta

October 5-7, 2009

Monday-Wednesday
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Join us for three days along the shores of the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta and experience inquiry-based activities and interactive multimedia while learning science.

The croak of the bullfrog, the leap of a striper, and the flight of a great blue heron; these are just a few of the engaging aspects that draw you into the California delta. Our three-day delta workshop, geared for elementary and middle school teachers, will introduce you to the diversity of the California delta through inquiry-based experiments, engaging multimedia products, and literacy-linked activities. Take these California standards-based activities back to your classroom and bring the captivating world of the delta to your students.

As a participating teacher you will visit the East Bay Regional Parks to experience first-hand the ecology of delta habitats.

This intensive three day course will integrate science standards and Language Arts standards. You will conduct local field investigations and receive classroom materials including the Coast Alive! Teacher Guide. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available. And you will become eligible for transportation scholarships to bring students to the bay.

Registration is open!
